In addition to the performance, participants will visit twelve “echo points” located both indoors and outdoors, where they will listen to Suzuki’s commentary and engage in an experience of focused listening.

The core of the project is the notion of active listening. Listening to a territory goes beyond its acoustic dimension: it implies presence and attention to subtle phenomena, to traces and narratives embedded in forms and materials. As part of the Artobuist 2025, artist Eiji Watanabe will recreate the hut “Mondori-an,” originally designed by Akio Suzuki. The performance “Mondori-an: WANA-Show” will take place in Obu, featuring Suzuki, who was invited as an artist in 2021, and Miyakita, who also participated in the dance performance, with the hut as the starting point.
